Compare Two Opening Lines for Your Blog Post
You wrote two versions of the first sentence and you cannot tell which works better. This compares them on the four things that make an opening line land: the promise to the reader, specificity, rhythm, and whether it starts with dead weight. It ends with a recommendation and one edit. Paste both lines.
You have a blog post and two possible opening lines. Write both: [Opening line A] and [Opening line B]. Compare them on: (1) which makes a stronger implicit promise to the reader about what they will get; (2) which is more specific, assuming vague is weaker; (3) which has better rhythm when read aloud; (4) whether either contains an unnecessary first word (There are many, In today's world, etc.) that should be cut. Close with a recommendation and one edit that would make the stronger line even better.
