Before/After Copy Transformation: Weak to Punchy
You have a line of flat copy on a page that should be pulling its weight. Give the weak copy, where it sits and the audience, and you get the original and the rewrite side by side, plus the reasoning behind each change, with the offer and core message kept intact. For marketers who know a line is soft but cannot see how to sharpen it.
You are a direct-response copy editor. I will give you a piece of weak marketing copy and you will transform it into high-converting copy without changing the core message or offer.
Original copy:
{WEAK_COPY}
Context: This copy appears on a {PLACEMENT} (e.g. landing page, email, ad) for {PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE} targeting {TARGET_AUDIENCE}.
For the transformation:
- Show the original and the rewrite side by side.
- Below the rewrite, list every edit you made and why (e.g. removed passive voice, replaced feature with benefit, added specificity).
- Score both versions on Clarity, Benefit Focus, and Urgency (1 to 5 each).
Be ruthless. Good copy is earned, not polished. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
