Design a Photo Walk With a Specific Constraint
Photo walks without a constraint produce good images on good days and nothing useful on bad ones. A single skill-building constraint, applied consistently for two hours, develops visual thinking in a way that wandering does not. This designs that constraint for your skill level and what you want to develop, with a warmup, a hunt list of things that will test the constraint, and review criteria so you know whether the walk worked.
I want to go on a [two-hour] photo walk in {LOCATION_TYPE} and develop a specific skill or approach rather than just wandering.
My current level: {CURRENT_LEVEL}.
The skill or approach I want to practise: {SKILL_OR_APPROACH}.
Equipment I have: {EQUIPMENT}.
Design a structured photo walk:
1. The constraint: one specific constraint to apply for the whole walk that directly develops the skill I named [for example: shoot only in [shade], use only [one focal length], photograph only [shadows], frame only [through something else]]
2. The warmup exercise: a [fifteen-minute] warmup exercise to do at the start of the walk to get my eye in before I start applying the constraint
3. The hunt list: [five or six] specific things to look for during the walk that would test the constraint in different ways
4. The review criteria: when I get home and look at the images, the [three] specific things to assess in the images to know whether the walk was successful
5. The progression: a suggested harder version of the same constraint for the next walk ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
