Critique Your Screenplay's Midpoint for Structural Debt

You know the midpoint is where scripts quietly die, and you cannot tell if yours is raising the stakes or just filling pages. This tests it against four hard standards: real escalation, a genuine shift in the protagonist, planting for act three, and whether it is borrowing energy it has not earned.

<task>
Critique the midpoint sequence below against these standards:
1. Does it genuinely raise the stakes, or just add incident
2. Does it shift the protagonist's approach or understanding, or do they carry on unchanged
3. Does it plant anything the third act will need, and is that planting visible without being telegraphed
4. Where does the sequence borrow energy from a stronger scene elsewhere in the script instead of generating its own
