Summarise a Course Handbook Into What Is Assessed and When
The course handbook is forty pages and thirty five of them are welcome messages and staff photos. Somewhere in there are the deadlines, the weightings, and the rule about late submission that will cost you five percent a day. This pulls out only the bits that can hurt you, in under a page.
Read the course handbook pasted below and summarise only the parts that affect what a student has to do. Produce four things: a dated list of every assessment with its weighting and word count or duration; the pass requirements, including any component that must be passed on its own; the rules that carry a penalty, such as late submission, word count limits, referencing style, and attendance; and a list of anything the handbook mentions but does not explain, so the student knows what to ask about. Ignore the welcome message, the staff biographies, and the learning outcomes unless an assessment is marked against them. Present it as four short headed sections with bullet points, under 400 words in total, plain English. If a date or weighting is missing from the handbook, write missing from handbook rather than estimating it. [paste the course handbook here]
