WORK 156 words
Two Training Courses, One Small Budget
Your training budget covers one course this year. Two look plausible: three days in Manchester with a certificate at the end, or the online one that is cheaper and probably fine. This compares them against the work you will be doing in six months, and says what you give up either way.
Act as a straight-talking learning and development adviser who has no relationship with either provider. Compare [course A] and [course B] for someone whose next twelve months of work will involve [describe your role and what is changing]. The budget available is [amount] and the time available is [number of days]. Score both courses on: relevance to the work described, depth against breadth, whether the skill can be shown to an employer afterwards, total cost including travel and days not working, and how soon it can be applied to something real. Present the comparison as a table with one row per criterion, then give a recommendation of two sentences, then one line naming what the rejected option offered that is being given up. If neither course is worth the money for this person, say so plainly and name the cheaper alternative that would do the same job. [paste the course outlines, prices and dates here]
