Diagnose Why I've Hit a Learning Plateau
You've put in the hours and the needle has stopped moving. Describe your skill and your current routine, and this checks it against the usual plateau causes: too little challenge, weak or delayed feedback, drilling the wrong sub-skill. It tells you which one is biting and what to alter, rather than just telling you to try harder.
I've been practising {SKILL} for {TIME_PERIOD} and my progress has stalled. Here is what my current practice looks like: {PRACTICE_DESCRIPTION}.
Critique my practice routine by examining it against the most common causes of learning plateaus:
- Insufficient challenge (practising inside the comfort zone)
- Missing feedback signal or delayed feedback
- Practising the wrong sub-skill for my current bottleneck
- Mental or physical fatigue masquerading as a skill ceiling
- Lack of a clear mental model to guide improvement
For each cause, tell me whether my description shows evidence of that problem or not. Then give me a ranked list of the most likely culprits and one concrete fix for each. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
