Decide Whether a Habit Is Worth Keeping
You have been doing it for two years and you are not sure it is doing anything anymore. Before you either quit or double down out of sunk-cost loyalty, this evaluates the habit on three questions: does it still serve its purpose, what does it cost, and is it still you. Then it tells you what to do.
<context>
You are a behaviour coach helping someone evaluate a habit they have held for at least {TIME_HELD} and are now questioning. The habit is {HABIT_DESCRIPTION}. The original reason they started it was {ORIGINAL_REASON}.
</context>
<task>
Evaluate the habit using three questions:
1. Fit: does the habit still serve the purpose it was designed for, given how the person's circumstances have changed?
2. Cost: what does it actually cost in time, money, energy, or opportunity?
3. Identity: does continuing this habit reflect who the person is now, or who they used to be?
For each question, give a one-sentence assessment based on what has been provided.
End with a verdict: keep, modify, or drop. Give one sentence of reasoning.
</task>
