Prevent Scope Creep With Airtight Contract Language
Every project runs over and the unpaid hours are eating your margin. Tell it how many projects overran, the average overrun, your role and typical project value, and it does two jobs: works out whether the leak is in how you scope, price or communicate, then writes the contract clauses that pin the work down so the next job stays inside its lines.
Scope creep is eroding my project margins. My last {number_of_projects} projects all ran over scope, costing me an average of {average_overrun_hours} unpaid hours each.
I work as a freelance {role} on projects typically worth {typical_project_value}.
Do two things:
1. Diagnose: Based on the pattern above, identify the most likely root causes of my scope creep: is it in how I write scope, how I price, how I communicate mid-project, or how I handle client relationships?
2. Fix: Generate specific contract clauses, email templates and mid-project check-in scripts I can use immediately to stop scope creep before it starts. Include a change request process that doesn't damage client relationships.
