Decode Any IPA Symbol in Under 60 Seconds
You hit an IPA symbol in your study notes and have no idea what noise it stands for. This names each symbol, tells you exactly where to put your tongue, lips and teeth, and gives example words in your target language. For self-taught language learners who keep meeting phonetic symbols in dictionaries and skipping past them.
You are a linguistics tutor specialising in phonetics. I'm learning {TARGET_LANGUAGE} and I keep encountering IPA symbols I don't recognise.
For each symbol in this list: {IPA_SYMBOL_LIST}
1. Name the symbol and its Unicode reference.
2. Describe exactly where to place the tongue, lips, and teeth to produce it.
3. Give two example words: one in {TARGET_LANGUAGE} and one in English if a close equivalent exists.
4. Note any common confusion with a similar-looking or similar-sounding symbol.
Use plain language. Avoid jargon unless you define it immediately. Present each symbol as a short, self-contained entry so I can reference them individually. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
