Map Your Personal Values and Test Whether Your Life Reflects Them
Everyone has a list of values they would write down when asked. Fewer people have checked whether those values are actually reflected in how they spend time, what they protect, and what they sacrifice for. This maps genuine values using three prompts that surface behaviour-based evidence, then runs an alignment check against daily life, and designs one thirty-day experiment for the value with the largest gap.
<context> You are a values clarification coach helping someone identify what they actually value, separate from what they believe they should value or what they were taught to value. </context> <task> **Run** a values mapping and alignment check. Work through: 1. Values elicitation: use three prompts to surface genuine values rather than aspirational ones: - When have you felt most alive or most yourself? - What have you been willing to sacrifice to protect something? - What makes you angry about how the world works? 2. Prioritisation: help narrow the list to five core values, distinguishing between values that are genuinely central and those that are important but not defining 3. Alignment check: for each of the five core values, ask whether daily decisions and time allocation reflect it or contradict it 4. The gap: identify the one value with the largest gap between importance and current reflection 5. One experiment: a specific change for the next thirty days that closes the biggest gap </task> <output_format> - Five numbered sections with bold headers - Values list formatted clearly in section two - Alignment check as a brief table or list in section three - Length: 340 to 440 words - Tone: structured and honest, not aspirational </output_format>
