Identify the Themes in Your Own Creative Work Without Romanticising Them

Writers return to the same themes, characters, and endings, often without fully realising it. Understanding the pattern is useful; the risk is either dismissing it (it is just what I write about) or over-interpreting it (it reveals some deep biographical truth). This maps the themes without psychologising the author and gives one question per theme that helps distinguish productive exploration from unfinished circling.

I want to understand the recurring themes in my own creative work without either dismissing them or over-interpreting them. My work includes: {WORK_DESCRIPTION}.

Help me identify the themes:
1. Ask me to describe: (a) the type of character or protagonist I return to most often, (b) the central conflict or problem that recurs, (c) the endings I tend to write or imagine
2. Based on my responses, identify two or three themes that appear across these elements
3. Name each theme plainly, without psychologising me as the author
4. Give one question for each theme that would help me decide whether I am exploring it productively or returning to it because I have not finished thinking it through

Do not tell me what my themes mean about me. Tell me what they mean for my work.
