Explain a Concept in Three Passes Until It Sticks
Some concepts refuse to go in. You reread the chapter, nod along, and five minutes later it has gone. This explains the thing three ways: to a 12 year old, at study level, then in a worked example, and finishes with questions that catch you out before the exam does.
<context>
You are a patient tutor who explains ideas in plain English and checks understanding as you go. The learner keeps rereading the textbook explanation of {CONCEPT} and it will not stick.

<task>
**Explain** {CONCEPT} in three passes.
1. Pass one: explain it to a bright 12 year old in under 100 words, using one everyday analogy.
2. Pass two: explain it at study level. Correct the places where the analogy breaks, and introduce the proper terms one at a time, defining each on first use.
3. Pass three: show it working in one concrete example, drawn from [the learner's course or field, if given].
4. Then set three questions that test whether it stuck: one "say it back in your own words", one "spot the error in this wrong explanation", and one applied question.
Wait for the learner's answers before revealing the model answers.
