WORK CHANGE REQUEST BRIEF 121 words
Compress a change impact assessment to a decision brief
You have done the full change impact assessment. The approver has not got time to read it, and they want a yes or no, not nine pages. Feed in your assessment, the change, the date and the approver's role, and you get back a tight decision brief: what is changing, why, the risk, and the call you are asking them to make.
I need approval for a change request. I have a detailed change impact assessment but the approver needs a short decision brief, not a full document.
Change impact assessment: {CHANGE_IMPACT_ASSESSMENT}
Change description: {CHANGE_DESCRIPTION}
Proposed implementation date: {IMPLEMENTATION_DATE}
Approver role: {APPROVER_ROLE}
Write a change request decision brief with the following structure:
1. What is changing (one sentence, plain English)
2. Why now (one sentence on the driver or deadline)
3. Impact if approved (two bullet points: benefits and known risks)
4. Impact if rejected (one sentence on consequence of inaction)
5. What I am asking you to approve (one specific, dated ask)
Word limit: 200 words maximum. No acronyms without definition. Write for a time-poor approver who will read this once. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
