Argument Structure Diagnostics
You think the argument holds together, but you're too close to see the cracks. Paste the body of your essay and this maps the logic: it labels each claim, names the type of support behind it, evidence, reasoning, analogy or authority, then flags the spots where a claim is made without anything propping it up.
Below is the full body of my essay (introduction and conclusion excluded):
{ESSAY_BODY}
Map the logical architecture of my argument by doing the following:
1. Identify each discrete claim and label it C1, C2, C3 etc.
2. For each claim, state what type of support is provided: empirical evidence, theoretical reasoning, analogy, or authority.
3. Identify any logical gaps: places where a claim is made without adequate support, or where the reasoning jumps unexpectedly.
4. Identify any redundant moves: claims that repeat rather than advance the argument.
5. Propose a revised argument sequence that eliminates gaps and redundancy.
Present steps 1 to 4 as an annotated outline. Present step 5 as a numbered list of claims in recommended order. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
