Research Gap Analysis Across a Body of Literature
"Nobody has studied this" is easy to claim and hard to defend. List the papers you've reviewed plus your field and angle, and this runs a systematic gap analysis: the methodological gaps in design or population, and the conceptual gaps in theory, so the gap your study fills is real rather than wishful.
I have reviewed a set of papers in my field and need to identify genuine research gaps that could justify my own study. My field is: {FIELD}. My research angle is: {RESEARCH_ANGLE}. Below are the titles and key claims of the papers I have reviewed:
{PAPER_LIST}
Perform a systematic gap analysis. Identify:
1. Methodological gaps: research designs, populations, or contexts not yet studied.
2. Conceptual gaps: theoretical constructs or relationships that have not been examined.
3. Temporal gaps: findings that are outdated and require replication in a contemporary context.
4. Geographic or demographic gaps: underrepresented populations or regions.
5. Contradictions in the literature that remain unresolved.
For each gap, rate its significance (High / Medium / Low) and suggest the type of study best positioned to address it. Flag the two most compelling gaps as recommended justifications for my own research. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
