Build a Reading List From a Single Book You Loved
Book recommendations based on topic tend to produce books that share a subject but not the quality that made the original worth reading. The useful version starts with what specifically made the book good and finds books that share that rather than the genre. This produces three to five targeted recommendations and one title that challenges the original, each with a one-sentence reason it belongs on the list.
I just finished [book title and author] and I want to read more in that direction. Do not give me a generic list of popular books in the same genre. Help me identify: what specifically I am looking for (the quality, argument, or approach that made this book worth reading), three to five books that share that specific quality rather than just the topic, and one book that would challenge the central argument or approach of the original. For each recommendation, tell me the one sentence reason it belongs on this list rather than a generic description.
