Design a Compelling Antagonist Without a Villain Origin
You want a villain who scares the reader without the tired wounded-child origin story. Give the genre, setting and the antagonist's goal, and you get a character whose worldview is internally logical, even admirable in isolation, but catastrophically wrong against the story's values. For writers who want a real threat, not a cartoon and not a redemption arc.
My story is a {GENRE} set in {SETTING}. I need an antagonist who is genuinely threatening and morally coherent, not a cartoon villain, but I do NOT want a sympathetic backstory or redemption arc. The antagonist's core goal is: {ANTAGONIST_GOAL}.
Design this character so that their worldview is internally logical and even admirable in isolation, but catastrophically wrong in the context of the story's values. Include: what they believe about themselves, what they believe about the protagonist, a signature behaviour that signals their worldview without dialogue, and the one thing they would never do, and why that limit makes them more dangerous, not less. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
