Write My Character's Internal Voice
Your character's inner voice reads like every other character's, because it reads like yours. Give their age, job, upbringing, hidden emotional state and coping habit, plus a triggering moment, and you get 300 words of interior monologue shaped by their class, education and self-deception. For writers chasing a voice that could only belong to one person.
I have a character named {CHARACTER_NAME} who is {AGE} years old, works as a {OCCUPATION}, and grew up {UPBRINGING_DETAIL}. Their dominant emotional state is {EMOTIONAL_STATE} but they hide it by {COPING_BEHAVIOUR}.
Write 300 words of interior monologue for this character as they {TRIGGERING_SITUATION}. The voice should feel utterly distinct, shaped by their class, education, trauma, and self-deception. Avoid generic introspection. Let the character's biases, blind spots, and private humour show through the texture of how they think, not through what they explicitly say about themselves. Use sentence rhythm and vocabulary as character tools. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
