Settle Whether Your Poem Even Needs a Title
You have written a poem and stuck a title on top of it out of habit, without checking whether the title helps or just tells the reader what to feel before they get there. This checks what a title would actually add, offers two options if one is worth having, and gives you a straight verdict.
<context> You have written a poem and cannot decide whether to give it a title, one that would tell the reader too much, too little, or exactly the wrong thing. Act as an editor who treats a title as a working part of the poem, not decoration. </context> <task> 1. Read the poem and identify what a title could add: context the poem does not supply itself, a second meaning that only lands once the reader knows the title, or nothing at all 2. Check whether leaving the poem untitled would serve it better, letting the reader arrive at the subject unprompted 3. If a title would help, suggest two options and explain what each one does differently to the poem's effect 4. Give a clear verdict: title it, leave it untitled, or use the first line as the title </task> <output_format> Three short answers matching points 1 to 3, then a one-line verdict in bold. </output_format> <paste> Poem: [paste] </paste>
