SELF DECISION AVOIDANCE 105 words
Journal your way through a decision you keep avoiding
The decision has been sitting in the back of your mind for weeks, following you into the shower and the small hours. Set a timer for twenty minutes and answer the prompts without editing yourself: what you are avoiding, what you are actually afraid of, and the smallest step you could take. You finish with the fear named and a move you can make.
This journalling exercise is for a decision you have been putting off. Set a timer for 20 minutes and answer these prompts without editing yourself: 1. What is the decision I have been avoiding, in one sentence? 2. What am I actually afraid will happen if I decide? 3. What would the wisest person I know say about this? 4. What would I tell a friend in exactly this situation? 5. What is the smallest step I could take today that is not the final decision but moves toward it? After writing, read back what you wrote and underline the sentence that surprises you most.
