Generate a Character Backstory From a Single Trait

Your character has one strong trait - stubbornness, compulsive lying, frightening competence - but they feel flat because nothing explains it. You give the trait and their current situation, and it builds a backstory that earns the behaviour. For fiction writers stuck with a sketch that won't come alive.

2. Propose three possible origin scenes -- one from childhood, one from adolescence, one from early adulthood -- that could have formed that trait
3. For each origin scene, identify a secondary character who shaped the moment
4. Suggest which origin feels most dramatically useful for the story and why
5. Write a 60-word internal monologue from the character that shows the trait without naming it
