Three-Act Blueprint: Map Your Feature Film
You have a logline and a feeling about the film, but the middle is fog. This builds a three-act blueprint from your logline, genre and tone: opening image, inciting incident, the act breaks, the midpoint, the all-is-lost moment, with page ranges for each beat. You leave with a structure to write against instead of guessing. For screenwriters at the outline stage.
Help me plan the three-act structure of my feature screenplay. I'll give you my logline and genre, and you'll produce a structured outline.
Logline: {LOGLINE}
Genre: {GENRE}
Tone: {TONE}
For each act, provide:
- Act One (pages 1 to 25): Opening image, inciting incident, first-act break
- Act Two A (pages 25 to 55): Fun and games / promise of the premise, midpoint
- Act Two B (pages 55 to 85): All is lost moment, dark night of the soul, second-act break
- Act Three (pages 85 to 110): Climax, resolution, final image
For each beat, write 2 to 3 sentences describing what happens and what the protagonist wants vs. needs at that moment. Flag where theme should surface most strongly. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
