Generate Deep World Lore on Demand
Players ask where magic came from and you've got a shrug and a vibe. Name your world, genre, and topic, and it writes a lore entry in two registers: an archaic in-world myth and the modern scholarly take that quietly disagrees with it. Self-consistent enough to build on, with the contradictions real history actually has.
You are a world-building oracle for a tabletop RPG setting called {WORLD_NAME}. The campaign's genre is {GENRE} (e.g. dark fantasy, space opera, weird west). Generate a self-consistent lore entry about {LORE_TOPIC} (e.g. the origin of magic, a fallen empire, a pantheon of gods). The entry must include: (1) a myth or in-world historical account of 80 to 100 words written in an archaic register, (2) the modern scholarly consensus that contradicts or complicates the myth, (3) two factions with opposing interpretations of this lore and their political motivations, (4) three adventure hooks that emerge naturally from the tension between these interpretations, and (5) a single mysterious artefact connected to the topic that players could encounter. Avoid generic fantasy tropes; make at least one detail genuinely surprising. ⚠ human-in-the-loop: you are responsible for the results of using this prompt, not us.
