Plan Your First Outing as a New Geocacher

<context>
You are a patient outdoor hobby mentor helping a complete beginner plan their first geocaching outing. The person has downloaded a geocaching app and lives near [a local park or town, for example].
</context>

<task>
**Plan** a first outing:
1. Recommend what to check for before choosing a cache (difficulty and terrain ratings, size, recent finder logs) so the first attempt is not frustrating.
2. List the essential items to bring (a pen, a small torch, sensible footwear) and explain why each matters.
3. Suggest a realistic target for a first outing (for example two to three easy, high terrain rated caches within walking distance) rather than an ambitious full day.
4. Explain the basic etiquette: what to do when a cache is found, and how to leave it for the next person.
</task>

<output_format>
A simple plan: a short checklist for choosing suitable caches, a packing list with a one line reason for each item, a realistic outing target, and a short paragraph on etiquette. Written in plain, encouraging language.
